Runescape Autofighter Information

Zaros

Little is known of Zamorak's predecessor, Zaros. Zaros was either the God of destruction and pure evil (in that he is even more dangerous than Zamorak in his prime) or was just a powerful god, like Guthix, not taking sides. He is also referred to as the God of Ancient Magicks or in other words, just some powerful unknown magics. Nobody knows his true allegiance although some facts (him having Zamorak as a General) point twoards him being evil; whereas others like Bob the Cat say otherwise.

In a recent release, a random event deemed Evil Bob or ScapeRune, a complete "mirror" world was created. That being said there is an EVIL Bob. If Zaros is indeed the Runescape Bob the Cat and ScapeRune is truly evil, that means Zaros was indeed a "good" god. From what little is known of Zaros it seems that he is more powerful than Saradomin, Zamorak, and even Guthix but this could be religious propaganda. All of Zaros's followers were killed after the God wars and his altars destroyed but his religious symbol was discovered to be a cross in a circle like (+). Zaros made his appearance between Guthix's sleep and the God wars.

His legacy beats strong within the current deities as Saradomin will not speak of him and Zamorak seems to even fear him (due to his sleep Guthix has no knowledge of him). There are few associated with the demon God but two have been suspected to associate with him. Lucien was thought to be the last of his followers before Mod James (one of the Jagex staff) said this was false, and the cat Bob when spoken to while wearing the cat speak amulet claims that he is Zaros and the other Gods cursed him to roam in this form. Whether Zaros will ever return to his true power is unknown. A rumor is circulating that Zaros was perhaps not as evil as formerly believed, but even these stories could be religious propaganda as there have been remnants of an ancient empire dating back to before the God wars which seems to have worshipped Zaros and has been highly reliant on magic.

This is strange given that the discovery of runestones, which allow the use of magic, was not discovered until millennia later. His symbol can also be found on the ancient staff. Zaros is usually only refered to as the empty lord since to speak his name would give him power perhaps enough even to return to the realm of runescape.

In the Ghostly Robes mini-quest, a lot more information was revealed about Zaros. He used to rule the land, being more powerful than even Armadyl. Zamorak was just a mortal general in Zaros's army. Through the use of spies, negotiators, thieves, and messengers, Zamorak managed to acquire the Staff of Armadyl. Saradomin (Who was also quite weak) sent spies to make sure Zamorak made no mischief, but one of the spies enchanted the staff with a certain spell, thinking he did a good deed.

However, he was still an amateur, and mistakingly cast a different spell (He was unaware of this). Zamorak and the other generals formed the Mahjarrat in Zaros's army, the others were Thammaron, Lord Drakan, Hazeel, Zemouregal and Azzanadra. All of these except Azzanadra didn't really like the way Zaros treated them, so they plotted an attack on Zaros's castle. Along with the rest of the Mahjarrat (Except Azzanadra), Zamorak marched up to Zaros's castle with all his assembled troops. The troops and other generals distracted Zaros's bodyguards, and Zamorak engaged 1-on-1 combat with Zaros. Zamorak stabbed the staff into Zaros's back, thinking it would kill him, but he didn't even flinch.

Many hours of battle followed, until Zaros lost his footing, at which point Zamorak jumped onto his chest, making Zaros fall on his back, stabbing the Staff of Armadyl right through him, also impaling Zamorak. Zaros's energy was channeled into Zamorak, turning him and his generals into gods. All of their troops and everybody else involved in the deal (Like Saradomin's spies) were turned into ghosts, doomed to wander the land forever. Azzanadra was imprisoned in the pyramid north of Menaphos.

Advancing a danger level is managed by simply walking further to the north and is not anyhow related to the players' statistics or level. Some games allow almost entirely unrestricted PvP, but inflict penalties on those who repeatedly attack players who do not regularly engage in PvP.

Lineage II uses a variation of this technique. Other games do not supervise player killing at all. However, since the days of Ultima Online, where player killing was originally entirely unrestricted, most developers have come to a consensus that some limitations are required to avoid driving away new players.

In EVE Online there is a security ranking for all locations (1.0 being safe and 0.0 being lawless) and in the more secure systems there is a solid NPC police force that actively hunts down any criminal that enters (personal security rating of -0.5 or lower). Even if you are not a ¡¥criminal¡¦ you can also expect to gain their attention if you start an act of aggression against another player or are caught carrying contraband. This sets up a safe, protected, civilised centre for new players, and those who would prefer to avoid confrontations but at the cost of reduced income as the real money is to be made out in the bad-lands, where the griefers lurk.
