Runescape Defence - Shields
There are two main types of shields, the square shield, which is shaped like a square, and a kiteshield which is shaped like a kite. The kiteshield is stronger than the square shield and requires the same level to wield. Also, kiteshields are usually the same as the next type of square shield. Spears
Spears are a members only item and can only be obtained from monster drops (and the rune spear from the Tai Bwo Wannai Trio quest ). They are two handed weapons and hit at the same speed as a longsword. Spears can be poisoned with the normal weapon poison or a Karambwan Poison which is more potent and can only be used on spears. Although they can only be used to train controlled and defensive attacks, spears is still arguably the most flexible weapons in the game, as they can use stab, crush, and slash attacks all effectively.
However, spears are rarely used to train or in the Wilderness . The Dragon Spear, which resembles a trident more than a spear, is the most expensive dragon weapon, as it can only be obtained from monster drops. The special for the dragon spear stuns the opponent momentarily (for one turn) so that he/she cannot run or attack.
